Decade, 2015 is a durational performance inspired by personal and public events of the last 10 years.
EJ Hill (b. 1985, Los Angeles) lives and works in Los Angeles and New York. Concentrating on an endurance-based performance practice, he uses his body as the literal and symbolic site for examining the many ways in which physical and ideological bodies may transcend their afflictions. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Buenos Aires and Berlin. He received a BFA in 2011 from Columbia College Chicago and an MFA in 2013 from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a recipient of a 2015 California Community Foundation Fellowship for Visual Artists and is a 2015-2016 Artist-in-Residence at the Studio Museum in Harlem.
