Untitled (Lunch Break), a digital art experience incorporating drag performance, DIY visuals, poetry, and sound. We invite everyone to sit at our table, to unpack lunch as ritual, concept, box, cold thermos, bake sale cupcake, paper bag, metal can, tray, soup, and a sandwich trading, sharing space. We draw inspiration from the mealtime’s histories, role in popular culture, and personal experiences. The show will take place during lunchtime and run for an hour. In this period of quarantine due to the Coronavirus, we are seeing lunch as an even more widely shared social experience, albeit digital. During isolation for such a long period, time and days begin to become indistinguishable. Lunch is a way to break the day, and take time to rest, reset, and maintain a connection outside of your immediate space with friends, coworkers, and family. We hope with this show to bring some love, drag, and queerness into this shared time and space. This platform and timing will also allow us to reach audiences that may not be able to experience an Untitled (Show) because it is not in a nightclub, not during the evening, and is free and accessible.
