About

an_outskirt is a story-telling project by Joy Tamayo (Bacacay, Albay) and Chaitanya Tamayo (Baguio, Benguet). Ritual, Colonialism/Decolonialism, Language, and Immigration are items that their migration across the Pacific preserved. Their transplantation into this new habitat and the process of making sense of incongruities are central to an_outskirt’s practice.

an_outskirt is an impulse to understand a path. It is an archival project—one that cultivates momentum from lists, words seldom spoken, and music no longer heard. Through these valences, we navigate 500 years of colonial erasing and locate ourselves in it.
